Sure, we all have our routines – and I definitely have mine. I NEED and rely on them every day. Routines like drinking water when I first get up in the morning, doing 10-15 minutes of yoga, writing in my Self Journal…that’s how I wake up.
But there is something to be said for introducing variety into your life. In my FB Live video yesterday (below) I shared 2 things I did to introduce variety into my life: one personal and one professional.
And last night, before going to bed, I reflected on how my day went.
Changing my workout routine was not only fun, but challenging and something that stayed with me all day.
Changing my interview questions and having more of an open-ended conversation with Erika Lyremark yesterday was not only fun, but challenging and something that stayed with me all day.
And BINGO, I recognized a pattern! Routines are important to have but so is variety, change in what you do for that routine. It brings mental and physical benefits. And while I may not have the energy for variety every day, it will be something I strive for.
You grow by challenging yourself, stretching yourself. And introducing variety – you cannot help but to be challenged and grow.
So, I ask you – what variety have you introduced into your life this week, today? What is something you could to to change and shake things up a bit?
For me, the saying:
Variety is the spice of life!
How about you?
